Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to motorcycle wrecks, there’s always a concern about how carefully authorities are handling the investigations. Frankly, a lot of people are biased against motorcyclists, and this can lead them to jump to conclusions. Authorities are not immune to this. I’ve had cases where we conducted independent investigations into a serious motorcycle accident which showed authorities either completely overlooked important details or outright came to false conclusions due to their carelessness. It’s one of the reasons motorcycle accidents fare much better in the hands of independent accident reconstructionists who actually ensure the evidence can speak for itself. Maybe such efforts would show that authorities here were thorough and fair in their efforts, but that’s just not something I’d take for granted.
