Cochran County, TX — March 31, 2023, Gregg Alan Lewis was injured following an accident where his vehicle crashed off the side of the road.
Investigators said that the incident happened just after 10:00 p.m. along County Road 245 near FM 1780. Details say that 63-year-old Gregg Lewis was in a Ford Ranger traveling northbound along the roadway.
At a curve in the road, the vehicle somehow ran off-road. It careened some distance before crashed into a parked commercial truck. Due to the crash, Lewis sustained injuries described as incapacitating. No one else was said to be injured.

Right now, there isn’t a confirmed cause for the crash. With single-vehicle wrecks, investigations need to include all kinds of possibilities, from mechanical issues to tire blowouts to medical conditions. People are quick to jump to conclusions with single-vehicle wrecks, but that often means something important goes overlooked. Hopefully authorities here were experienced enough to ensure there were clearer answers than what’s currently available to the public.
