Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Right now, there’s no more information that can be confirmed. That’s something I’m always cautious of when it comes to motorcycle wrecks especially. I talk a lot on this blog about how there can be extenuating circumstances leading to a single-vehicle crash that need careful attention. Mechanical issues, road hazards, victims unlawfully over-served by bars, medical conditions, tire blowouts, etc. People are generally willing to accept these possibilities, but that all goes out the window when they learn it’s a motorcycle crash.

Simply put, people are less willing to believe motorcycle accidents involve anything besides driver error. Regardless of what happened here, it’s up to the evidence to say. That’s why thorough investigations are so crucial in these situations. People can jump to all of the conclusions they want, but without the facts, it doesn’t mean much. It remains to be seen, though, if steps are being taken to get answers here and ensure the victim’s loved ones know they’re getting the facts and not baseless speculation.
