Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to house fires, people sometimes jump to the conclusion that the residents must have done something wrong. That’s obviously worth investigating, but there are all kinds of other explanations. Electrical issues, defective appliances, gas leaks, poor maintenance of a rental property, botched installations or repairs by a contractor, etc. Only by carefully considering these possibilities can there be answers for the victim’s loved ones. Hopefully officials are being thorough in their efforts here and not making any hasty assumptions.
