UPDATE (March 15, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify what occurred during this incident. According to these reports, a 30-year-old man was traveling in a Ford Bronco on the onramp from Hwy. 281 to NW Loop 410 when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Bronco crashed into the rear-end of a Hyundai Santa Cruz occupied by 76-year-old Eden Nuval and two others. The collision caused the Santa Cruz to collide with a barrier and overturn onto its right side. The man from the Bronco allegedly fled the scene of the accident on foot, neglecting to stop and render aid of any sort to the other victims involved in the wreck. The Bronco eventually became fully engulfed in flames. The man was later identified, located, and apprehended, according to authorities.

Nuval and the two other occupants of the Hyundai incurred injuries of varying severity and were transported to local medical facilities in order to receive treatment. However, Nuval was ultimately unable to overcome her injuries; she was declared deceased at the hospital.

According to authorities, the accident took place on the exit for Loop 410 from U.S. Highway 281.

The causal factors that led to the crash are still unclear. Officials indicate that one of the vehicles involved in the accident became engulfed in flames. The woman who had been an occupant of the flaming vehicle—76-year-old Eden Nuval—incurred reportedly fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Another vehicle which was involved was apparently overturned and resting on its roof. Two of the occupants of the overturned vehicle incurred suspected severe injuries and were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment.
