Hidalgo County, TX — May 28, 2023, Dora Gonzales Watts was injured by an alleged drunk driver around 1:50 a.m. on F.M. 1426 in Hidalgo County.
Authorities report the victim’s Toyota Rav4 Mazda was southbound on F.M. 1426 driving through the intersection with Alberta Rd. when a northbound CX-9 reportedly attempted a left-hand turn and struck the rear driver-side door of the Rav4. Investigators allege the CX-9 disregarded a red light.
Ms. Gonzales Watts was reportedly taken to a hospital with serious injuries, while the CX-9 driver sustained minor injuries.
Police recommended charging the CX-9 driver with intoxication assault.
