UPDATE (July 25, 2023): Additional details about the crash from authorities identified two of the victims hurt in the crash. Authorities say they were occupants of the SUV, 61-year-old Maria Torres and 30-year-old Marlene Caballero. Four children in the SUV had various injuries, none of which were described as serious. No further information is available at this time.
Weslaco, TX — July 3, 2023, Domingo Rodriguez and Mateo Guzman Lopez were killed, and six others were injured in a crash around 7:20 p.m. on Kenyon Road in Weslaco.
Officials report Mr. Rodriguez’s and Mr. Guzman Lopez’s Chevrolet Cobalt was heading south on Kenyon Road when it collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban on F.M. 2812.
Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Guzman Lopez suffered fatal injuries. The six occupants in the Suburban were purportedly taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
