Denton, TX — August 16, 2024, David Offenbaker was injured as the result of a car accident at around 2:00 a.m. along Loop 288.
According to officials, the accident happened in east Denton in the area of Loop 288 and East McKinney Street.
Investigators said that 46-year-old David Offenbaker was in a Kia Soul going northbound on Loop 288. At McKinney, there was reportedly a parked emergency vehicle on northbound lanes. Offenbaker’s vehicle crashed into that emergency vehicle. As a result, Offenbaker was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported.

With a situation like this, it’s important to keep in mind that the public rarely gets to know the whole story. As straight-forward as things may seem, there could be more to it. For example, there was this crash I was discussing with a colleague where a woman crashed into the back of a truck and was seriously injured. That’s all folks knew, so there was obviously a lot of speculation. But weeks later, we found out that the woman’s vehicle actually had a serious defect, and that was ultimately the cause of her injuries. I’m not saying that happened here, but it’s an example of why folks shouldn’t go around rushing to conclusions when they’ve only seen a small glimpse of the much larger picture.
