Authorities indicate that on June 9, a fatal accident occurred when a garbage truck driver drove his truck off the Garden State Parkway and crashed into some trees. According to reports, the accident happened shortly after 1:00 in the afternoon.
Garbage truck driver David Mello Jr. was reportedly headed southbound on the parkway when he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. As his vehicle veered to the right and off the road, Mello was ejected from the truck and killed.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the truck to veer off the road. No other injuries were reported.
