Mansfield, TX — August 3, 2024, one person was killed following a single-car accident shortly after 3:45 a.m. along Newt Patterson Road.
According to authorities, one person was traveling in a Chevy Trax on Newt Patterson Road in the vicinity of the Rendon Bloodworth Road intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Chevy failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off of the roadway and crashed into a drainage pipe. The impact caused the Trax to catch on fire, according to reports. The sole occupant of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene.
