Cass County, TX — December 17, 2023, Charles Lewis Burton was injured as the result of a car accident at around 10:25 p.m. along F.M. 96.
Authorities said in their statements that the accident happened in the area of Farm-to-Market 96 and County Road 3437.
According to officials, 48-year-old Charles Lewis Burton was in a Ford F-150 going northbound along F.M. 96. On a right-hand curve, the pickup went off the left side of the road where it hit a culvert at County Road 3437. As a result of this, the pickup vaulted to the other side of the road where it overturned.
As a result of the crash, Charles Burton was taken from the scene with injuries described as serious. There did not appear to be anyone else in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were mentioned, either. Right now, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.
