Longview, TX — May 7, 2023, Carrie Pickron was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident that happened at around 10:47 p.m. on Marshall Avenue.
According to information released by the Longview Police Department, the incident took place at around 11:00 p.m. near the intersection of Marshall Avenue (U.S. 80) and Williams Street.
Details provided by authorities at this time say that 39-year-old Carrie Pickron was on an electric scooter at the time and was reportedly going along the eastbound lanes of Marshall Avenue. While doing so, it appears that a vehicle hit Pickron. That vehicle then fled the scene.
As a result of the collision, Pickron sustained injuries which ultimately proved fatal. No other injuries were reported. At this time, authorities say they’re continuing to search for the runaway driver. That vehicle is said to be a gray Dodge Challenger. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities.
