Houston, TX — November 2, 2023, a woman was killed in a car accident around one o’clock in the morning along Gulf Freeway.

According to authorities, a woman—who was the sole occupant of the vehicle—was waiting at the intersection of the Gulf Freeway overpass and Airport Boulevard because of an indicated red light when the accident took place.

For reasons yet to be confirmed, a speeding vehicle disregarded the red light at the intersection and collided with the rear-end of the woman’s vehicle. The collision pushed both vehicles into the intersection. The woman—whose identity has not been made public—was killed as a result of the crash. The driver of the impacting vehicle was reportedly injured and taken to a local medical facility for treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were not reported on, though videos of the aftermath of the accident which have been published in the news depict what appear to be dry roads.
