Fort Worth, TX — August 20, 2023, Candido Santillan Meza was killed and one person was injured following a car accident after midnight along McCart Avenue.
Authorities said in their statements about the crash that the accident happened at approximately 12:07 a.m. along McCart Avenue in the area of Duringer Road.
According to officials, 20-year-old Candido Santillan Meza was in a Ford F-150 reportedly going northbound along McCart. A Ford Mustang reportedly driven by 25-year-old Jovany Guerrero Zapata was also going northbound at the time. For reasons unclear, the F-150 lost control and crashed into a pole along the side of the road. Guerrero Zapata reportedly could not avoid the F-150 and crashed into it.
As a result of the accident, Candido Santillan Meza sustained fatal injuries. Guerrero Zapata had injuries described as non-incapacitating. Right now, there are no additional details about the accident which can be confirmed.
