Hudsonville, MI — June 8, 2023, a man sustained injuries following a box truck accident at around noon outside of Forest Grove Elementary.
Preliminary details about the crash were released by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, who said that it happened in the parking and drop-off/pick-up areas of Forest Grove Elementary School, which is at 1645 32nd Avenue.
According to authorities, a box truck was going northbound along 32nd at the time. Somehow, the truck lost control and ran off-road. It continued onto the school grounds where it crashed into a school bus that was waiting to pick up students as well as multiple other vehicles.
As a result of that, a 35-year-old man who was between two of those vehicles became pinned. That man was said to have serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. No other injuries were reported, and it appears no students were involved in the crash. Right now, the cause of the crash is still unclear pending further investigations.
