As open-and-shut as these details may seem, authorities blaming someone in a preliminary crash investigation is rarely enough on its own to get families the help and resolution they deserve. At the end of the day, families who have the most evidence as possible telling their side of the story are the ones who fare the best. Sometimes, authorities are dedicated and thorough enough to get that evidence on their own. A lot of the time, though, even seemingly “simple” car accidents end up needing more thorough independent investigations.
