Harris County, TX — April 30, 2024, one person was injured in a bicycle versus hit-and-run car accident at approximately 2:30 a.m. along South Lake Houston Pkwy.
According to authorities, a man was traveling on a bicycle on South Lake Houston Parkway in the vicinity south of Beaumont Highway when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle of unknown make and model. The vehicle apparently fled the scene of the accident, the person(s) inside failing to stop and offer aid of any sort to the bicyclist.
The man was reportedly critically injured as a result of the incident; he was flown to an area hospital in order to receive immediate and necessary treatment.
