McAllen, TX — August 23, 2024, one person was killed following a bicycle versus car accident shortly after 8:30 p.m. along Jonquil Avenue.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the vicinity of the Jonquil Avenue and McColl Street intersection.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between a motor vehicle and a bicycle. The bicyclist suffered reportedly critical injuries as a result of the wreck; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, they were ultimately unable to overcome the severity of the injuries they had incurred, having later been declared deceased.
