Limestone County, TX — April 23, 2024, Alissa Brown was injured following a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 7:30 a.m. along State Highway 171.
According to authorities, 27-year-old Alissa Brown was traveling in a southbound Kia Sorento on State Highway 171 in the vicinity southeast of F.M. 2838 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that a southbound vehicle of unknown make and model was traveling at allegedly high speeds. The Kia Sorento pulled over to the right shoulder in order to allow the other vehicle to pass. However, the other vehicle reportedly moved over to the should as well, failing to control its speed and crashing into the rear-end of the Sorento. This caused the Sorento to swerve and veer off of the right side of the roadway where it overturned. It came to a stop resting on its roof.
The rear-ending vehicle reportedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. Brown—who was pregnant at the time of the accident—incurred injuries as a result of the wreck and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS for treatment.
