Panola County, TX — July 11, 2024, Alex Harkrider was injured as the result of a motorcycle accident that happened around 11:30 p.m. on County Road 201.
According to initial details from authorities, the incident took place in the area of County Road 201 and County Road 202, north of Carthage.
Investigators said that 18-year-old Alex Harkrider was on a BMW motorcycle going northbound along C.R. 201. At C.R. 202, the motorcycle somehow continued straight and ran off-road. There, the motorcycle crashed.
Harkrider sustained serious injuries due to the accident. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Other details remain unconfirmed.

There are certain kind of accidents I get calls about which can cause people to unfairly jump to conclusions. Crashes involving teen drivers and motorcyclists are about the biggest offenders when it comes to people jumping to conclusions. So while I don’t have information about what happened here, these are some red flags, and it makes me wonder how thorough investigations were. Did authorities take time to consider all sorts of possible factors, even unlikely ones? Or were they quick to pass judgment and move on without really letting the evidence speak for itself?
