Jacksonville, FL — August 24, 2023, three people were killed, and 1 person was injured by an alleged drunk driver on Merrill Road in Arlington in Jacksonville.
According to officials, the four victims were westbound in a Honda Fit when their vehicle was struck by a Ford F-250 traveling south on Hartsfield Road. The Ford F-250 reportedly struck the passenger side of the Honda.
Authorities report two of the Honda’s passengers were pronounced deceased at the crash scene, a third person perished at a hospital, and the driver suffered life-threatening injuries. The alleged drunk driver was reportedly uninjured.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash, but say the Ford F-250 was traveling the wrong way on Hartsfield Road, and that police recommend charging the F-250 driver with DUI manslaughter.
