Hudspeth County, TX — August 30, 2023, a truck driver was injured in a single-vehicle accident around 4:10 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 62 in Hudspeth County.

According to officials, the victim’s Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling east on the highway when its right rear tire blew. The popped tire reportedly forced the truck to veer into the westbound lanes, enter into a counter-clockwise, leave the road, and overturn. The truck purportedly came to rest on its passenger side with its nose pointing southwest.

Authorities report the 26-year-old driver was taken to a medical center with serious injuries.

The cause of the popped tire has not been released.
