Wingstreet is a fairly young brand within the Yum! brand conglomerate, opening it's first location in 2003 as a "hyrid combo unit" with existing Pizza Hut franchises. Since then the chain has blossomed to more than 4,000 locations. The Plano, TX based fast food restaurant hasn't been without its share of growing pains, however.
Simply because a Wingstreet location was investigated, it does not mean that they are a location that displays a pattern of violating TABC code. Conversely, if a location has been investigated and investigators determine that they are not in violation of TABC code, that does not mean that the alleged violation did not take place. At times, sufficient evidence required to prove that either criminal or administrative violations occurred is hard to come by. We are simply reporting the locations that were put on the TABC's radar for one reason or another by concerned citizens and law enforcement agencies.
Wingstreet Locations Investigated by the TABC Since 2016
Bonham - 510 E Sam Rayburn Road
Allegation:
On 1/11/2016, it was alleged that this location had employed a person under the age of 18 to sell alcohol.
TABC investigators closed the case on 2/26/2016, taking no further action against this Wingstreet location.
Pilot Point - 730 Hwy 377 South Suite 102
Allegation:
On 02/11/2016, this location was alleged to have an intoxicated employee on shift when a law enforcement agency reported the incident to the TABC.
Later, on 03/19/2016, TABC investigators closed the investigation with no further action taken.
Amarillo - 5101 S Western Street
Allegation:
On 05/14/2016, this location was alleged to have failed to report a breach of the peace by a licensee.
TABC investigators closed their investigation of the matter on 06/27/2016.
Greenville - 5305 S Wesley
Allegation:
A Greenville resident alleged that a minor was selling alcohol on 01/18/2017.
TABC investigators decided to close the investigation on 02/24/2017 with no further action taken.
Amarillo - 2509 S Georgia Street
Allegation:
On 07/11/2017, it was alleged by a private citizen that this location had sold alcohol to an intoxicated person..
The investigation was closed on 8/15/2017 with no further action taken.
Houston - 12810 Gulf Fwy Suite A
Allegation:
On 02/06/2018, this location was alleged to have committed marketing violations.
On 03/30/2018, investigators closed the case with no further action.
Corpus Christi - 6537 S Staples Street Suite 120
Allegation:
On 04/12/2018, this location had sold alcohol to aperson under the age of 21..
On 05/30/2018, investigators closed the case with no further action.
San Angelo - 3510 Knickerbocker Road
Allegation:
On 05/04/2018, this location was alleged by a member of the San Angelo community to have sold alcohol to an obviously intoxicated person.
On 06/07/2018, investigators found no criminal and administrative violations and the case was closed.
El Paso - 7049 S Desert Boulevard
Allegation:
On 05/16/2018, a patron alleged that there had been sales to an intoxicated person who was under the age of 21.
After a look at the evidence, TABC officials closed down the investigation on 7/1/2018 after failing to find enough evidence to pursue the matter further.
Plainview - 1108 Ih 27 North
Allegation:
On 05/22/2018, it was alleged that this location had permitted that an alcohol beverage, that was served at this location, to be removed from the premises.
After a look at the evidence, TABC officials closed down the investigation on 6/28/2018 after failing to find enough evidence to pursue the matter further.
Victoria - 7002 NW Zac Lentz Pkwy
Allegation:
On 05/30/2018, a member of the Victoria community alleged that there was a person under the age of 18 selling alcohol for Wingstreet.
Later, on 06/26/2018, the investigation was closed with no further action taken.
