How Did This Accident Occur?
We don’t know much about this crash at this point. Hopefully that is because authorities have been too busy to issue an update, not because they don’t know what happened.
Investigators should be able to reconstruct this accident by reviewing physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage. Cell phone records may show what each driver was doing at the time of the crash, but an outside expert may be needed to conduct a forensic examination of the vehicles if authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash.
Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the training for more than a cursory inspection, in my experience, but these women’s families deserve to know as much as possible about what happened on NE Loop 820.
