Rollover crashes can stem from a range of roadway conditions—such as uneven pavement, loose gravel, sudden curves, or shoulder drop-offs. Investigators should evaluate where the loss of control occurred, the vehicle’s path before and after leaving the roadway, and any environmental or structural factors that could have influenced the outcome. The severity and pattern of the vehicle’s rollover also help determine whether it was a single roll or a series of flips caused by terrain or impact angles.
Second, has the possibility of a mechanical or electronic failure been considered?
