Police say the collision occurred around 11:45 a.m. when a tractor trailer hauling a concrete slab allegedly collided with a small straight-truck hauling propane. The impact caused the tractor trailer to jackknife and overturn, fatally striking a male pedestrian on the sidewalk. The driver of the tractor trailer was extricated and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Multiple secondary crashes followed, and debris from the wreck also damaged other vehicles and a parked motorcycle.
