A crash in Ector County occurred on Friday, August 8th when a northbound 2015 Peterbilt truck, hauling a trailer, allegedly suffered a front left tire blowout on US Highway 385. The blowout reportedly caused the driver to lose control, cross the median, and enter the southbound lanes. The driver then attempted to cross back over through the cable barrier to avoid oncoming traffic, but the truck struck a southbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado in the process. The collision killed 33-year-old Johnny Saenz of Andrews, Texas, who was a passenger in the Silverado. The crash remains under investigation.
