Hidalgo County, TX — February 11, 2024, Zeila Arely Palacios was injured in a car accident at approximately 5:15 p.m. along North 10th Street.
According to authorities, 27-year-old Zeila Arely Palacios was at a stop in a Kia Forte behind a halted Audi facing northbound on 10th Street in the vicinity south of the Valencia Market Place intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Nissan Rogue failed to appropriately control its speed, colliding with the rear-end of the Kia. That collision pushed the front of the Kia into the back of the Audi. Palacios incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident and was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
