McLennan County, TX — October 27, 2023, Stephen Garcia and two others were hurt after a hit-and-run accident that happened around 11:25 p.m. on I-35.
According to initial statements, the accident happened in the area of the I-35 and Loop 340/Highway 6 interchange.
It appears that 56-year-old Stephen Garcia was driving an Oldsmobile with two passengers, a 56-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman. They were going northbound on the interstate when it appears a GMC pickup somehow crashed into the back of the Oldsmobile. This caused the car to lose control, and it crashed off-road along an exit ramp. The GMC reportedly left the scene, but the suspect driver contacted authorities the following day.
Due to the collision, Garcia and one of Garcia’s passengers had moderate injuries. The other passenger had serious injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash remain unconfirmed. Authorities recommended charges.
