Harris County, TX — February 27, 2024, Xzavier Jacobs was killed as the result of a car accident at around 10:21 p.m. on Spencer Road.
According to statements from officials, the incident happened in the area of the Spencer Road (F.M. 529) and Highway 6 intersection, northwest of Houston.

Investigators said that 39-year-old Xzavier Jacobs was on a bicycle going westbound along a median concrete divider. It’s said that the bicycle entered an eastbound travel lane where a vehicle then struck Jacobs, throwing him from the bike. Following the initial collision, a second eastbound vehicle then struck Jacobs again. As a result of the collisions, Jacobs was fatally injured.
Right now, details suggest both drivers remained at the scene and weren’t charged. No other details can be confirmed right now.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One thing that could be important to clarify is how exactly authorities came to their conclusions. If the drivers involved couldn’t avoid hitting the bicyclist, it seems unlikely they’d know what the victim was doing prior to the impact.
Did authorities find evidence independent of statements from the drivers involved to help explain what led to this man’s death? Security camera video? Independent witnesses? Dash cam footage? Or, did they fill in some blanks without clear evidence? I certainly wouldn’t know one way or the other right now, but my concern is there could still be a family out there left with unanswered questions.
