Ellis County, TX — February 26, 2024, Vanessa Zmolik was injured following a truck accident shortly before 8:00 a.m. along Farm to Market 66.
According to authorities, 52-year-old Vanessa Zmolik was traveling in a northeast bound Lexus along F.M. 66 in the vicinity southwest of I.H. 35E when the accident occurred.
The traffic conditions in the area at the time were apparently slow moving. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a northeast bound Chevy 5500 truck with a trailer in tow failed to appropriately control its speed. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the truck and the rear-end of the Lexus. This collision pushed the Lexus forward, causing a secondary collision between the front-end of the Lexus and the back of a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Zmolik incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of this wreck. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
