Charlotte County, VA — February 12, 2024, a child was killed while Tyron Morton, Stephan Robertson, Devon Parish, Jamie Mosely, and another child were injured in a truck accident just after 10:00 p.m. along Old Kings Highway.
According to authorities, a logging truck was making a left turn from an eastbound private drive onto the northbound lanes of Old Kings Highway, Business Route 360, when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the trailer being hauled by the truck had not cleared the southbound lanes of the highway before a southbound Toyota Scion and Cadillac Deville approached. As a result, the Scion collided with the trailer, after which the Cadillac rear-ended the Scion.
The Scion had been occupied by 30-year-old Devon Parish, 31-year-old Jamie Mosley, a 9-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old boy. The 11-year-old incurred fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Parish, Mosley, and the 9-year-old boy all reportedly incurred severe injures. The Cadillac had been occupied by 49-year-old Stephen Robertson and 45-year-old Tyrone Morton. Robertson also sustained suspected severe injuries, while Morton apparently incurred minor injuries. All the injured victims were transported to various medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
