Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the truck was unable to safely navigate a left-hand curve in the road. It reportedly veered right and partially left the roadway before swerving left and losing control. The truck allegedly crossed over the center line and the southbound lane before leaving the roadway completely and colliding with a tree. It apparently spun 180 degrees after that, coming to rest facing south east in the ditch beside the road.

The 61-year-old, who had been the sole occupant of the truck, incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
