How Did This Accident Occur?

This crash may seem simple at first glance, but what if the truck that crashed has a problem with its brakes? Or the one in front of it didn’t have working brake lights? The only way to know for sure is to wait until the investigation is completed.

Authorities will look at evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from both trucks and any available video footage of the crash to piece together what happened on I-5. Many trucking companies these days are equipping their trucks with cameras, so there may be views of what was happening in the cab and on the road at the time of the crash.

Cell phone and maintenance records could help determine if the driver was distracted and if the truck was current on its scheduled maintenance.

A thorough investigation will provide answers for the injured men and their families, while identifying who may be responsible for this crash.
