How Did This Accident Occur?

While I certainly don’t know more about this crash than anyone else in the public reading the news, the semi-truck fleeing the scene raises some familiar red flags. I handled a hit-and-run truck accident a while back. It may not surprise people to learn that the truck driver in that case fled the scene because he was at-fault for the crash and because he was on drugs. He decided he’d try his luck running from justice rather than take responsibility for his actions.

Fortunately, we were able to get in touch with the driver’s girlfriend, of all people. She saw our calls to the public for information and decided to do the right thing. Perhaps similar steps could help here, as well. If authorities can, they should also put more information out to the public in the hopes someone can help them connect the dots. Whether the truck driver caused this crash or not, they need to answer for their involvement, and they could be the key to getting the victim’s loved ones the answers and the closure they deserve.
