Accident Report

February 20, 2026, Tiffany Hanson lost her life in a motorcycle versus car accident shortly after 11:00 p.m. along Interstate Highway 30.

According to authorities, 41-year-old Tiffany Hanson was traveling on a westbound Honda motorcycle on I-30 approaching Forest Park Boulevard when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the motorcycle failed to appropriately control its speed or safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a side swipe collision with a westbound Nissan Armada. An eastbound Toyota Corolla was also involved, according to reports.

Hanson—who had reportedly sustained fatal injuries over the course of the accident—was declared deceased at the scene. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Motorcyclists tend to get a bad rap when it comes to their involvement in car accidents. I hope that authorities who are in charge of investigating this accident do not let that cloud their judgment. After all, just because a motorcycle was involved in an accident does not automatically mean that they were the ones at fault.

What if the motorcycle had a steering issue at a critical moment? Or did it suffer a tire blowout? Maybe there was something wrong with the brakes or the throttle? Motorcycles are smaller than passenger vehicles, yes, but they are still complex machines. Several systems have to work as designed and in tandem in order for them to remain safely ridable. Any number of things could have gone wrong that were totally outside of Tiffany Hanson’s control at the time of the accident.

I think the authorities who are in charge of investigating this accident should take the time and put in the effort necessary to get vehicle inspections done. That way, all these questions—and more—can be answered definitively. I know they aren’t done routinely in most vehicle accident investigations, but a special request can be made. And if they don’t end up getting it done, then a third party investigator can take that step, as well.

After all, the loved ones left behind by Tiffany Hanson deserve to have all of the facts that are supported by hard evidence. They absolutely don’t need convenient assumptions that have nothing to back them up and just place the blame at the feet of the deceased.
