Ballard County, KY — January 20, 2024, Theresa Polivick was killed and Larry Polivick was injured following a semi-truck accident at 8:30 p.m. along U.S. 51.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened in the area of the U.S. Highway 51 and Union Construction Gate Road.
According to officials, 70-year-old Theresa Polivick and 70-year-old Larry Polivick were in a Nissan Altima going northbound along U.S. 51. Up ahead, it appears a semi-trailer was attempting to back into the Phoenix Paper Mill, reportedly blocking both directions of the highway. As the semi-trailer was blocking lanes of travel, the Nissan crashed into it.
Theresa Polivick sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Larry Polivick was taken to a hospital in serious condition. There were no other reported injuries. At this time, no further information about the accident is available.
