Borden County, TX — December 29, 2023, Jeremy Swearingen was injured following an 18-wheeler accident at around 10:10 a.m. along U.S. Highway 180.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened near the intersection of U.S. 180 and F.M. 612.
According to officials, 47-year-old Jeremy Swearingen was in a Dodge Journey going eastbound along the highway. There was an 18-wheeler approaching in the oncoming lane, and authorities say a rod came off the tractor-trailer and fell into the roadway. It then went through Swearingen’s window, striking and seriously injuring Swearingen.
The tractor-trailer reportedly did not stop, and it’s unclear if authorities ever identified the driver or truck involved. Additional details are unavailable at this time.
