Authorities reported that the fatal collision happened half a mile west of the intersection of Farm-to-Market 812 and Highway 21.

Officials said in their statements that a 31-year-old Austin man was driving a Kia Rio northwest along F.M. 812. While doing so, an oncoming Chevy Silverado apparently crossed left of center and crashed head-on into the Kia.
Due to the collision, the Austin man sustained fatal injuries. A teenager in the Kia and the driver of the Silverado may have had minor injuries, police say.
