Live Oak, TX — December 5, 2023, Debra Cruz was injured in a truck accident shortly before 12:00 noon along Interstate Highway 35.
According to reports, 48-year-old Debra Cruz and a 25-year-old man were traveling in a northbound GMC Sierra in the right-most lane of Interstate Highway 35 just north of Loop 1604 when the accident took place.
An 18-wheeler which had been traveling in the same lane ahead allegedly broke down, coming to a stop in the active lane of traffic. For unknown reasons, the Sierra was unable to avoid a collision with the rear-end of the trailer. Cruz incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash; she was taken to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been clear and dry. There is not currently any additional information available pertaining to this incident.
