Right now, the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation. I just hope those investigations are being treated more carefully than a lot of the motorcycle accident cases I’ve had. The unfortunate reality is a lot of people, authorities included, are quick to blame motorcyclists without actually knowing all of the facts. Just like with accidents involving typical cars, there needs to be consideration for extenuating circumstances. Was there a mechanical defect involved? Did a tire blowout? Was someone illegally over-served by a bar? Did another driver cause the accident and flee the scene? Did the victim suffer a medical emergency? Likely or not, the evidence needs to be allowed to speak for itself. A victim’s loved ones at least deserve to know they’re getting the full story.
