Accident Report

March 29, 2026, three people were injured due to a single-vehicle rollover accident just after 8:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 35E.

According to authorities, three people—a 37-year-old woman and two girls ages 12 and 13—were traveling in a southbound Ford Bronco in the vicinity north of Valle Ridge Boulevard when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Bronco failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a traffic attenuation device and overturned.

All three of the people inside the Bronco reportedly suffered serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

At first glance, this accident might look like a classic case of driver error. However, I’ve been doing this job for over thirty years. I’ve had the chance to analyze hundreds of single-car accidents. In that time, I’ve seen plenty of cases where the investigations ended up unearthing evidence of causes that were not immediately apparent.

If the authorities are doing their job the way they should, they will be looking into the reason behind the lane deviation. Could it have been a tire blowout? Or maybe a steering mechanism problem? On top of that, there is the fact that the Bronco overturned. Most don’t know this, but the rollover tests that car manufacturers are required to pass actually do a terrible job at simulating real-world scenarios. I would be interested to know whether or not a design flaw with the Bronco contributed to its overturn.

Hopefully the investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get an in-depth vehicle inspection done on the Bronco. That way, any mechanical malfunctions, product defects, or design flaws that played a role in the wreck can be brought to light. After all, the victims of this accident deserve a clear understanding of not only how this wreck took place, but why. Vague assumptions based on surface-level investigation just won’t cut it.
