Accident Report
March 4, 2026, Roger Leveston was injured due to a car accident just after 10:00 p.m. along Farm to Market 2920.
According to authorities, 28-year-old Roger Leveston was traveling in an eastbound Lexus on F.M. 2920 at the Gosling Road intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Lexus attempted a left turn onto Gosling without yielding the right-of-way to oncoming traffic. A collision consequently occurred between the front-right of the turning Lexus and the front-end of the oncoming Lexus.
Leveston reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Over the last three decades in which I have been in this line of business, I’ve analyzed hundreds of car accidents. Most people, when they see accidents like this one, will get hyper-fixated on the collision itself—the who, what, when, why, where, and how of it all. I’m not insinuating that those things are not important, but there is also something else that I think the investigators should look into: how well did the vehicles’ safety systems perform?
Was either Lexus equipped with collision prevention systems? If so, did they somehow malfunction at the time of the wreck? What about the air bags and seatbelt in Mr. Leveston’s Lexus? Did they work the way they were designed? If any of these were faulty during the wreck, then it’s possible that the victim’s injuries ended up being more serious than they should have been.
Hopefully the investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get an in-depth vehicle inspection done on both of these cars. That way, any mechanical malfunctions, product defects, or design flaws that contributed to the severity of Mr. Leveston’s injuries won’t just fly under the radar.
