Lubbock, TX — December 9, 2023, Rodrigo Torres and Angela Bray were killed and another were injured following a car accident at 7:22 p.m. on Avenue Q.
According to statements on the fatal crash, it happened at the Avenue Q and 58th Street intersection, just off Interstate 27.
Officials said that 23-year-old Rodrigo Torres was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris reportedly driven by 41-year-old Angela Bray. They were on 58th Street before going onto Avenue Q where a northbound Mercedes-Benz crashed into the Toyota. This forced both vehicles off-road where they struck multiple parked vehicles.
As a result of the collision, Torres and Bray both succumbed to their injuries. Authorities say that the Mercedes-Benz driver had serious injuries. That driver is accused of being intoxicated at the time of the collision. It’s said they arrested the driver for DWI, but official charges remain unconfirmed right now.
