Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to motorcycle accidents, all early details should be taken with a grain of salt. Frankly, authorities don’t always give them proper attention because a lot of people are quick to just blame motorcyclists and move on. But there are all kinds of possible factors that can play a role in these crashes, and they can create complex situations for the victims and families involved.
Were there mechanical defects? Did a tire blow out? Were there issues with the roadway? Did an alcohol provider unlawfully over-serve the driver? Was there another reckless driver involved who left the scene? Likely or not, investigators need to look under every stone to make sure nothing important slips through the cracks. It remains to be seen how thorough investigators have been here and if they’re really letting the victims tell their side of the story.
