How Did This Accident Occur?

This late at night, a pedestrian on the roadway can be quite dangerous. It’s possible that this person was just in an unsafe spot at the wrong time. Or, it could be that the victim was reasonably avoidable, but the driver either wasn’t paying enough attention to the road or was out-driving their headlights.

That’s all up to the evidence to say for sure, and my hope is that the accident isn’t treated as a low priority. I see that a lot from departments who already tend to treat accident reconstruction as an afterthought. Then, when independent investigators step in, they find all kinds of important information that slipped through the cracks.

If authorities here are being more thorough, that would be good. It’s just not something I would take for granted.

Does anyone take this road a lot? Are pedestrians common? Let me know in the comments.
