Houston, TX — December 17, 2023, Nick Jones was killed due to an alleged intoxicated driver accident which happened early Saturday along Katy Freeway.
Details released by officials say that the accident happened at approximately 1:40 a.m. along westbound lanes of the 8000 block of Interstate 10.

According to officials, 31-year-old Nick Jones had been driving a Chevy Equinox along the interstate when an initial collision with a Mercedes brought both vehicles to a stop. A wrecker then stopped by them some time later to assist. Jones and the other driver were reportedly standing outside of their vehicles when police say a Jeep Wrangler crashed into stationary vehicles, hitting Jones in the process.
Jones reportedly went to a hospital where his injuries proved fatal the day after the crash. There were no other reported injuries. Harris County officials appear to have charged the Jeep driver for alleged intoxication assault. It’s unclear if they plan to file additional or upgraded charges. No further information is available pending investigations.
