UPDATE (January 29, 2024): Recent reports have been released which identify the woman who lost her life as a result of this hit-and-run accident as 42-year-old Maria Cervantes Guerrero. The man who was behind the wheel of the SUV that struck Guerrero’s vehicle has been identified as Billy Williamson. He has reportedly been located and is in police custody.
Dallas, TX — January 24, 2024, a woman was killed in a car accident sometime after 12:00 midnight along Jim Miller Road.
According to authorities, the accident took place at the intersection of Jim Miller Road and Bruton Road.
Officials indicate that an SUV occupied by an as yet unidentified man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle reportedly struck a traffic light pole at the intersection, overturning and going into a roll as a result. The SUV allegedly collided with a car occupied by a woman. After the crash, the man purportedly entered a different vehicle and fled the scene.
The woman incurred critical injuries as a result of the accident; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, she was ultimately unable to overcome her injuries, having been declared deceased at the hospital.
