Accident Report

March 18, 2026, Linda Grimes and one other person were injured due to a car accident just after 4:45 p.m. along Stone Road (F.M. 2204).

According to authorities, 80-year-old Linda Grimes was traveling in an eastbound Toyota RAV4 on Stone Road at the Stoneridge intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado failed to appropriately control its speed. A collision consequently occurred between the front-end of the Silverado and the rear-end of the RAV4. A westbound GMC Yukon occupied by an 85-year-old man was also involved in the wreck.

Grimes and the man from the Yukon reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. The man from the Silverado was apparently unhurt. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

If there is one thing that I have learned over the last three decades of my career, it’s that there is no such thing as a simple car accident. To be transparent, I don’t know more about this specific accident than others; I just have a different perspective. Could driver error have been behind it all? Sure. Human error, statistically, plays a role in the majority of car accidents. But, it’s a mistake to assume it plays a role in every car accident.

Take this accident, for example. Could the driver of the Silverado been distracted, fatigued, or in someway impaired? Sure. But what if the Silverado was dealing with brake failure? Or even a throttle issue? Either of those things could have led to the rear-end collision. And what of Linda Grimes’s seatbelt? Was it working properly? If not, did her injuries end up being more severe than the should have been?

These are things that could be unearthed as underlying issues if the authorities take the time to get vehicle inspections done. If, for some reason, the authorities fail to take that step, then a third party investigation can always do so; that way all the bases are covered and the people who were affected by this wreck end up with the answers they deserve.
