South Padre Island, TX — June 8, 2024, Joshua Alexander Gomez was killed in a motorcycle versus pickup truck accident sometime in the evening on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway.
According to authorities, 19-year-old Joshua Alexander Gomez was traveling on a westbound Yamaha motorcycle on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the motorcycle may have been traveling at high speeds leading up to the accident. It reportedly collided with the rear-end of a GMC Sierra truck. Gomez suffered reportedly critical injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of his injuries, having there been declared deceased. No other injuries have been reported.
